1. It is a Federally Funded Project which means it will not cost Schenectady Taxpayers Millions of Dollars. The money can only be used for Erie Blvd, and if we do not take advantage of this opportunity we will lose the Federal Funding to another city other than Schenectady.
2. It will make Erie Blvd a Beautiful gateway into Downtown Schenectady which in turn will be a Positive reflection of Schenectady to visitors.
3. Existing Retail Businesses on Erie and in Downtown will profit since residents and visitors will be able to safely visit their stores more often.
4. Private investment will increase due to the continued success of Downtown Schenectady, which in turn means more tax revenue due to increased sales.
5. Schenectady is a Place of History, Heritage - a Place to be Proud of. The renewal of Erie Boulevard will expand the success of Dowtown Schenectady to Lower State Street… What are we Waiting For!
